The Conservation Commission is responsible for protecting all inland and wetlands and watercourses in the City of Norwalk and enforcing all laws and regulations which govern development activity in the vicinity of such areas. The Commission reviews Zoning Commission referrals and all applications where construction activity is to take place adjacent to wetlands and watercourses. The Commission makes decisions on wetland permits, and updates wetland maps. The Commission inspects construction sites to ensure compliance with the terms of all permits issued and to enforce the Wetlands and Watercourses Regulations of the City of Norwalk.
